American Patriot Award

The American Patriot Award recognizes exceptional leaders who dedicate their lives to enhancing human security and global stability. The NDU Foundation hosts an annual in which we celebrate the accomplishments and service of our honoree together with over five hundred guests from diplomatic, military, government and civilian leadership. Support of the American Patriot Award benefits National Defense University.

This year, the 2016 American Patriot Award honored both the Men and Women of the United States Department of Defense accepted by the Honorable Ashton Carter, Secretary of Defense and the Men and Women of the Defense and Intelligence Industry accepted by Mr. Norm Augustine, former OSD DR&E Executive, Acting Secretary of the Army and former Chairman, Lockheed Martin Corporation. 

This past year, we honored the men and women of the Central Intelligence Agency with the American Patriot Award. Other past honorees include: The National Guard, The Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton, Admiral William H. McRaven, USN and the men and women of US Special Operations Command, Senators John McCain and Joe Lieberman, Dr. Robert Gates, General David H. Petraeus, USA, and the Men and Women of Central Command, The Honorable Henry Kissinger, The Honorable John Warner and The Honorable Ike Skelton, The Honorable John Glenn, Senator Daniel Inouye and The Honorable Ted Stevens, The Honorable Bob Dole, President George H.W. Bush, The Honorable Caspar Weinberger, and General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.).

2016 American Patriot Award - Tribute to the Men and Women of the Department of Defense
